About Us

What is Westside Family Pet Clinic

Our mission is simple: help people by helping their pets. We're dedicated to keeping the animals of Norfolk and the surrounding communities happy, healthy, and well cared for.

We envision a practice where experience, advanced care, and a genuine willingness to dig into complicated cases mean every pet gets the best possible outcome. Our goal is to be the trusted partner Norfolk-area families turn to for every stage of their pet's life.

We believe in bringing advanced medicine home — from laparoscopic and orthopedic surgery to programs like Free Vaccinations for Life, all backed by real experience and a willingness to take on complicated cases.

Shane Pedersen, DVM

Dr. Shane Pedersen has been in the area as a veterinarian since 1999. Originally from a small farm near Hoskins, he attended Northwest Missouri State University for 3 years of undergrad and then received early acceptance to Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in the spring of 1999. Although Dr. Pedersen enjoyed being outside and working with large animals in addition to small and exotic animals, he decided to retire from the large animals in early 2024. Now he has dedicated his time to the challenges and rewards that come from the small and exotic animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Pedersen especially enjoys orthopedic and laparoscopic cases. Dr. Pedersen married his high school sweetheart, Linda Feyerherm, in the summer of 1996. She previously worked at Pierce Telecommunications and now works as the Clinic Accounts Manager. They live on an acreage outside of town with their standard poodles and rescue cats. They have 3 children and 1 son-in-law.

Stevie Morris, DVM

Hi, I'm Dr. Stevie Morris! I grew up in Pierce, NE, with my parents and two sisters. I attended both elementary and high school in Pierce. After graduation, I pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. I then went on to participate in the 2 & 2 program for veterinary school, spending two years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completing my doctorate at Iowa State University. I graduated from Iowa State University with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in May 2018. I am a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA). I chose this profession because of my love of animals combined with my passion for science. I particularly enjoy dermatology and internal medicine, finding great satisfaction in diagnosing and treating complex cases. What I love most about my job is the opportunity to interact and build relationships with the clients, helping them to properly care for their pets. Working with animals and their humans brings me immense joy and fulfillment, and I truly cherish the trust that pet owners place in me to care for their pets. Outside of the clinic, I love spending time with my family and friends. My husband, Daniel, and I share our home with our beautiful children as well as two cats, Tuna Noodle and Lo Mein, and our dog Chloe. I very much enjoy being outside in the summer playing with the kids and going on walks, camping, and watching movies. In the past year I went part time to spend more time with my kids. These activities provide a perfect balance to my professional life and allow me to recharge and connect with my loved ones.

Rebecca, Groomer at Westside Family Pet Clinic

Rebecca

Groomer

My name is Rebecca. I gained my love for animals growing up on the family farm in New Jersey. I moved to the Midwest in 1988 and finally settled in Norfolk in 2005. I have always felt a strong bond with the animals I interact with, which is why I had taken an opportunity to better myself and get a certificate in grooming. One of the things I love most about grooming is getting the opportunity to work with so many different dogs, and getting to know each one's unique personality. When I'm not grooming your furry family members, I'm spending time with mine. I am married to Scott, have 3 children, and lots of fur/scale children. Our home is not only filled with craziness but lots of love.
